you know HALDE (1)? The High Authority against Discrimination and for Equality aims to fight against discrimination. What is discrimination? HALDE gives this definition:
Discrimination is unequal treatment based on grounds prohibited by law, as origin, sex, disability etc.. in an area covered by law such as employment, housing, education, etc..
This definition deliberately forgotten the primary meaning of the word "discriminate" in French - not a pejorative - (act of intelligence between different things), and returns an egalitarian vision of society.
To discriminate is to choose. Choose means being free.
There only one area where discrimination is not acceptable is that of individual equality before the law. Everyone, whatever their color, sex, religion, profession, etc.. should be treated the same way by the Act. On this point, and only on this point Fighting discrimination is essential.
